1. Amazon Coupon

There is a major update on Amazon Coupon.  Amazon has introduced new requirements for coupon pricing. These new requirements had been effective from March 12.

In new updates,  your product will require sales history to be eligible for a coupon. And, it will require a promotion price that should be lower than the “previous price” or the recent lowest price. Amazon will improve the coupon experience and build customer trust with this.

Here we are breaking down this coupon update because it’s pretty confusing. There are 3 things to know:

  • The days of frequently utilizing coupons are past
  • It’s going to have more strategy around coupons
  • I think the promotional price requirement will change as there is no time frame around it

The biggest reason for this update is Amazon wants customers to click more on coupons.

2. TikTok Shop Update

There are some surprising changes placed in the TikTok shop. Because of these updates on TikTok a question might be moving around in people Does TikTok sustain the competition of e-commerce?

TikTok introduced new features recently which are very cool. They are making themselves an e-commerce platform. They had extended shop ads in their TikTok shop tab. That means merchants can promote products directly within the shop tab using an image from their product catalog. This is good news for the sellers. If you go to the shop tab you can see that there are some sponsored products in there.

Another update on TikTok is video shopping ads that are now available globally to brands and retailers. It has new formats and creative options.

TikTok also made these video ads available in the search tab. So you can search these videos and that’s going to be easier for potential buyers to find them.

Marchants now can automatically populate the catalog images into TikTok.

So, TikTok is serious about making sellers successful on their platform. Let’s see what they come up with next.

3. Manage Your Customer Engagement on Amazon

It is a simple update of Amazon but that might cost a lot. Manage Your Customer Engagement,  or MYCE is no longer available. Amazon stopped this tool on February 16. So, sellers are not able to run this campaign which is a pretty sad story for the brands.

4. Remove Meltable Inventory

Amazon has requested to remove meltable inventory. This announcement came on March 14. To meet product quality standards they won’t take any meltable product from April 15 to October 15 to their fulfillment center.

Meltable products are heat-sensitive items, such as chocolate, gummies, and select jelly- and wax-based products. If you have any of these items, you should remove them from the fulfillment center by April 15.

5. Amazon AI

It is the most important update that came up on Amazon. Finally, Amazon gives good news to their sellers. Amazon has come up with new tools that will make the listing process a lot easier with AI.

In the coming weeks, Amazon will roll out generative artificial intelligence capabilities that will allow you to create high-quality product listings that are automatically tailored to Amazon’s store based on your direct-to-consumer website.

These tools allow you to create product titles, descriptions, and other product details from product images, and many more. This update helps sellers to save time and spend time on other business work.

6: Amazon Donation

The next update takes place on the Amazon FBA Donation Program. As a seller, it is important to know that it is a program you didn’t know although you are enrolled in this. Now you can have this donation certificate

Amazon announced on March 1, to get FBA donation certificates for tax season. So, if you want a donation certificate that you can download and provide to your tax adviser, it is now available in Seller Central to use this tax season.

7. Amazon Accelerate

There is another announcement from Amazon. They’ve announced the date of Amazon Accelerate 2024, which is the annual selling partner conference held in Seattle. The conference will run from 17th to 19th September.

Be there to get first-hand learning from Amazon, speak one-on-one with their experts, and connect with other selling partners. A lot of people wait for this event. If you are interested, then enroll yourself in this event.

8. Amazon FBA Benefits

Amazon has improved the benefits of new FBA products. Amazon is claiming they are going to give Rebate on Sales!

Amazon says, “We’ll continue to provide an average 10% rebate on sales of eligible new-to-FBA parent products, including new rebates for eligible non-branded selection.”

The meaning of this update is Amazon is going to give you a 10% rebate on sales. And if you do not know what a is rebate follow the given example carefully.

If your product price is 100 dollars Amazon will sell at $90, and the rest $10 will be given from Amazon’s pocket. But there are some limitations and requirements to get this benefit.

  • The rebate is available on up to 50 units for eligible non-standard size items and up to 100 units for eligible standard-size items for 120 days from the first inventory-received date.

These improvements for new FBA products are a win for sellers. The increased rebate rates and extended eligibility periods provide a stronger incentive for sellers to utilize FBA.

  • Amazon has made changes for all eligible non-standard-size products. The storage, liquidation, and rebate benefits apply for up to 50 units per parent ASIN previously which was 30 units.
  • The storage and rebate benefits apply for up to 120 days per parent ASIN from the first inventory-received date previously which was 90 days.
  • Amazon also reduced the IPI score for eligibility from 400 to 300. By reducing the IPI score threshold, Amazon is also making it easier for sellers to qualify for these benefits.

These changes aim to support sellers and encourage growth within the FBA program.

9. Small Update on Amazon

Amazon also said they will announce additional program updates, including a discount on Vine enrollment fees later this year.

10. Updates on eBay

eBay came up with a new AI update this month. With this, you can generate an item’s description. This update will help you create an eye-catching description in no time. They also improved their background removal tool as well.

11. 2-Factor Authentication on Amazon

The next article is from the Amazon Seller Central dashboard. This update includes two-factor authentication will be required for Seller Central while sign-in.

You might have already used two-factor authentication. But this became mandatory on March 28. You either have to use a mobile number or an authentication app.

This is highly recommended for your digital safety. For most of the websites especially seller central you should have 2-factor authentication.
