On the Amazon platform, small or new sellers did not have any alternative options to establish a brand before brand registry program. If you are registered with brand registry program, you acquire the rights to control the content for your items and listings to that registered brand.
Without a brand registry, A seller can be in danger of hackers assuming control over their listings. Hacker can change anything from their listing if a seller’s listing is not registered.
Eligibility for Amazon Brand Registry

Basically, the goal of Amazon Brand Registry is to make it easier for sellers to manage their own brands and list their products on Amazon. Main benefits are: Control the content on your products details pages, override missing or low quality, reduce matching errors. Amazon says Enrolling a brand in the Brand Registry and registering as the brand owner does not prevent other sellers from selling the branded products.

Now brand registry is not included with seller central. It is completely new & also different from the previous one. An updated brand registry is for sellers, vendors, and brands who are new at the Amazon platform. Brand owners can take their control & protect their brands through updated amazon brand registry.
Starting Process with Updated Amazon Brand Registry
Seller & brand owners have to use their present Seller central accounts credentials since it will show previous brands that were enrolled in the original system. Before Amazon trademark verification, brands will not be enrolled in the new brand registry. Brands will need to begin the enlistment procedure for the updated. Amazon will then request more brand information from the owner, which helps them keep up a definitive brand database.
