How to Enroll for Amazon’s FBA Small and Light Program

Product Requirements for Small and Light Program:

If you fit the following requirements and are selling a product for $10 or less, you can use the FBA small and light service:

  • Condition: Only products in new condition 
  • Dimensions: Measure 18 x 14 x 8 inches or less
  • Weight: 3 lb or less
  • Price: Priced at $10 or less are eligible for Small and Light.
  • It must not be under a restricted category
  • If existing ASIN, it must have sold at least 25 units in the past month

Also, not all categories and products are eligible for this program. 

Ineligible Products for Small and Light Program:

  • Collectible, Used, and Club conditions are not acceptable
  • Crushable (Glass, Chips)
  • ASINs with more than 30 units of the same product in Standard FBA. Sellers must clear all existing inventory from Standard FBA and then create a new offer for FBA Small and Light.
  • Products from the prohibited item list:
    • Restricted products
    • FBA Prohibited Products
    • Adult products
    • Dangerous goods (Hazmat)
    • Temperature-sensitive products (like chocolates, Wax items)

Crushable products, such as potato chips and glass are eligible as long as they are properly packaged.

Now, let’s walk through the process of how to enroll for the Amazon FBA Small and Light program from Amazon seller central.

Step 1: First, login into your Amazon seller central and select Explore Programs from the Growth menu tab.

Step 2: It’ll redirect you to the Recommended Programs page. Here, you can see the Fulfillment option under the All programs. Just click here for further steps.

Step 3: After that, the fulfillment page will appear. On the fulfillment page, you will see FBA, Small and Light, and Amazon Global Logistics options. Please click on the Learn more button from the Small and Light option.

Step 4: Now click on the Enroll products menu from the Small and Light option page.

Step 5: After that, please click on the Download template button from the Download and fill out the template section to download the feed file.

Step 6: Open the template and click on the Upload tab. Now input MSKU or SKU number in cell A4.

Note: Remove extra spaces before and after your MSKUs / SKUs to prevent upload errors.

Step 7: Please input the Country name in cell B1. Make sure cell B1 accurately reflects the appropriate marketplace/ Country.

Step 8: After completing them, please save the file as a Text (tab-delimited) file. Please check the below screenshots as reference.

Step 9: Now, go to the enrollment page (step 2) and click on the Choose File button to upload your text file. After selecting the text file, please click on the Upload now button to complete the process.

To review upload status, go to the Review enrollment status for your last 10 uploads. Here, you can see the Date & time, file Batch ID, Status/Results of your file, and action. If the file is uploaded successfully the Status will be shown as Done.

Note: Upload processing time depends on the file size. Please monitor the Status/Results section and click on the Refresh button for updates.

View the Processing Report within the Actions section upon availability. Check the report for errors. If any item doesn’t meet the amazon criteria for the small and light program, check the items in inventory and make some changes to make them eligible for the small and light program. And reupload the file with the error MSKU/ SKU.
