What is n-Matrix and how to define n-Matrix in Sellercloud?

This article is about n-Matrix and procedure to define n-Matrix in Sellercloud both manually and through excel feed file in bulk.

In SellerCloud, the variation of items is known as n-Matrix. Same product can be available in different colors, sizes, widths, packs and others. Vendors assign separate SKUs for their slightly different types of products. Still it is possible to list these colors, sizes, widths, counts varieties of same item on one listing retaining their separate SKUs. This action is achieved through an n-Matrix in SellerCloud. Here is a width & size variant item.

Every business lead in eCommerce industry aware of how consequential the variation of item is. Variation of items can be referred to as items that show on a single listing in your marketplace/cart with color, size, etc. variations. Choosing a concrete variation selects a categorical SKU to inductively authorize.

In SellerCloud, n-Matrix refers to a relationship between products that share common characteristics with minor variations, such as different colors, widths, sizes. Here, the term matrix is being used to refer to how the various colors, widths, sizes can form a matrix like this:

It is called an n-Matrix as it can have any number of dimensions (Dimension is the value of the variations). A lot of other systems only let you group items with two dimensions, size and color, but an n-Matrix let you group items with any number of dimensions such as size, color, width, pack.

Adding n-Matrix on SellerCloud through Excel / CSV in Bulk

To import n-Matrix on SellerCloud, you can follow the steps that we are going to show in this documentation. You have to go to SellerCloud first.

Then go to SellerCloud Inventory page and click on Import Product Info. To import any information on SellerCloud we need to use this ‘Import Product Info’ feature

You will be taken to Import Product Info page, in this page there are multiple features of SellerCloud but we need to click on Import Product N Matrix.

You can also download template from here. To download the template, you need to choose the file type from the dropdown menu and click on Download Template.

The template has been downloaded. Now, You need to provide ParentProduct ID, Product ID, Color, Size, Width or Pack which variation you want to create. 

Here you can see the ParentProduct ID, Product ID, Width and Size have been provided in the template.

Again go to Import Product N Matrix page and select Excel as file type from the dropdown menu. Choose the n-Matrix file and check the Override existing matrix. Click on Import Matrix.

You will notice a notification where Job ID number has been provided, click to monitor the schedule. It is important to monitor as there can be any mistake happened so that you can resolve this.

You will find the Status showing Submitted.

After a while, the Job Status will be completed that you can see in the below screenshot.

Your work is done here. You can check if the n-Matrix is uploaded or not. To do that, search the item on the inventory page. On the right side there will be an Icon. Click on the icon. 

By clicking the icon you will be taken to the Product N Matrix page and your uploaded n-Matrix will appear.

Manually Adding n-Matrix on SellerCloud interface

First, we have to ensure that the dimension value is existing in the SellerCloud if it does not exist we can add new dimension going to Settings and clicking on n-Matrix.

You will be taken to the n-Matrix dimensions page, click on the Add New Dimension.

You need to add a Unique Name so that you may recognize when required, Display Name that will be shown on the channel, Abbreviation will be added automatically with your variations items Product ID. 

A notification will appear showing dimension save successfully. Click on Manage Values to add values. 

Add value and abbreviation, click on Save. Repeat adding value, abbreviation and saving for all variations.

Search the item on SellerCloud Inventory page for which you want to add the n-Matrix. Click on the SKU or Product Name to go to product summary page.

Click on the Toolbox on product summary page.

Click on N-Matrix then Matrix General

Pick the dimensions you want to use for creating matrix for this product.

Click on Continue at the bottom of the page. 

Click on Save.

A notification will appear showing Matrix saved successfully. If you search on the Inventory page with the parent SKU, you will find the Matrix Parent and Child Items has been created.
