eBay listing using Magento via M2E Pro
We know that you are familiar with Magento. Let’s have a brief look at Magento. Magento is the world’s number one eCommerce platform where a seller can create a flexible shopping cart. Also, its best advantage is you can control the overview of your online store. The extension system is one of the best features of Magento that makes this programme unique than other programmes in the market.
What is M2E Pro:
Extensions on Magento is very useful to create a good flexible shopping cart. One of the more useful extension is named M2E pro. This extension expands the ability of Magento to integrate and work with eBay and sometimes other channels, allowing you to get more sales. M2E means Magento to eBay.
Installing M2E Pro:
Installation Process:
Let’s see how we can install M2E pro extension on Magento successfully. Basically, there are a few steps for you to easily install it. No worries, here they are!
Firstly, You should have an account on Magento to install the M2E pro. Let’s begin from your Magento account. Log into your Magento account, then go to – System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect Manager.
On “Magento Connect Manager”, you have to log in with your ID and password.
After login in, you will see the following interface.
To install the M2E pro, we need to put a key below in the red marked box on the screenshot. Let’s see how to collect this key.
You Need to buy M2E pro (Totally free) to get this key. First, go to THIS LINK by opening a new tab to buy M2E pro.
After clicking on the link, you will find the M2E pro. Now, on the right side, you will find a drop-down where you have to select Community and then select Add to cart.
After clicking on Add to cart, it will be added onto your cart which is located on the top right corner. If you click there (cart icon), you will find the Go to Checkout option.
Now you will get the M2E pro installation key(yellow mark box) on the following screenshot and then just copy that key by clicking on click. A message will appear “key was copied to the clipboard”
Now get back the Magento Connect Manager tab which we have opened earlier. Here paste the key on the paste extension key to install and then hit the Install button. After a little while, you will see the Extension dependencies (the other red marked box). Click on Proceed.
Tips:
*Marked red box (If you check this box, then your account may be going under maintenance mode. It better to uncheck the box while installing M2E pro.)
After clicking on the proceed, you will go to the bottom of the page and will see a cmd massage. Don’t leave this page until you see the message “Cache cleaned successfully” like the following.
After that, go to the top of the page and click Return to Admin option. Like the following screenshot.
This is going to be the last step to our M2E installation. After clicking on the return to admin you will go to your previous familiar Magento admin page. Now lastly, go to your system and select Cache management and then refresh all Cache Storage Management (select all red mark box#1). After that click on flush Magento cache and flush Cache(red marked box#3) storage.
Now it’s done! Just log out and then log back in. There you are, you have successfully Installed the M2E pro on Magento. Here is a screenshot of how you will be sure that the M2E pro extension has been installed on your Magento system. You will see the “Sell on eBay” option on the menu tab.
Caution: Though it is a very simple process, we recommend you to do this process under some Magento expert.
Let’s see how we can use the “sell on eBay” feature to unload on eBay. To upload on eBay via sell on eBay(M2E pro) first we need to learn to create configurators.
Creating a Configurator:
Well, Configurator is a system that allows you to create some default policies and settings to be used for your eBay items. Because these configurators just help to pass items on to the marketplaces for sale through Magento. This configurator does not exist like a real item but sets up and controls the rules for other items. Now let’s see how to create this configurator.
When you log in, you will see the above interface of M2E pro extension. To create a configurator, first, you need to select Sell on eBay. Then choose listings.
After selecting listings, you will see the following interface. The Redbox shows that there is already a configurator there. On the 2nd Redbox, you can see the Add Listing option. Click that.
After that, you can see the interface of creating a new M2E pro listing (Screenshot 3). From here you need to fill up 4 sections so you can successfully create a configurator/virtual listing.
Section 1: General settings
On this section, you need to fill all the boxes.
The Title is what will be the name of the listing. It can be anything that you want.
The Account is where you want to pass items to through M2E pro.
Next one is eBay Site which will be the place of your account.
Last but not the least Magento Store View means the store you want to use for this M2E Pro Listing.
Section 2: Payment and Shipping settings
Basically, this is where you choose your payment and shipping settings. Here you can use market policies or you can build your own custom settings. In this settings, there are three parts –
- Payment
- Shipping
- Return
You can build your own Custom Policy for each part or you can choose default marketplace policies. It’s not mandatory that you have to choose the same (custom/default) policy. You can choose any combination as you want. Like you can choose Payment Policy default and can make your own Custom Shipping Policy which you can use in your another configurator.
Let’s see the Shipping & Return Policy interface and see which box we need to fill up.
We will see this in the next two Screenshots.
You must be thinking that how can you build your own custom settings, here is the solution for you. Please see the next screenshot there you will see a red marked Save as New Policy. Fill all the recommended box as you want to set Payment/ Shipping/ Return and then save it as a new policy.
As an example (Previous Screenshot) for custom policy let’s pick the Shipping settings. Here you should fill all the boxes. The remark box which contains Service is very much important for shipping policy (as you see we have chosen flat rate freight). After completing all the required box, you can click on save as new policy.
Section 3: It contains Selling Settings
It is also one kind of policy. This step divided into two parts. Like-
- Price, Quantity, and Format
- Description
Price, Quantity, and Format are like the other policy setup. You can choose by default marketplaces policy or can build your own policy. Now, in the next two screenshots, we will see the interface of Price, Quantity, and Format.
Section 4: Synchronization Settings
This is the last step to creating a configurator.
First, have to look at each synchronization (red mark box). Those will be filled by default. We just need to enable or disable options as per your demand. After that click on Next step.
The final stage is to Choose how you want to display products for selection. You can either choose to display them as “Product list” or “Categories”. After that, click on Continue. That’s it, here is our successfully created configurator/listing.
Since we have successfully created our configurator, let’s upload one listing through this configurator/ listing.
UPLOADING A PRODUCT
After clicking on the configurator, we will see this kind of interface (previous screenshot). To upload a product, we need to click on Add products and then select From products list.
N.B. We are using the eBay marketplace for this article.
Let’s pick a random product from our store to show you how to add products from the list.
Now click on Continue
Now you will see a pop out and there you will see listing setting customization. Click on Yes and there you go for the next step
Now choose the option for category selection as per your demand. Click on Continue. It will lead you next step.
Now you have to select the category for eBay listings. After selecting a category, click on confirm. Here you can select eBay secondary category and also the store category (if you have store category on your eBay store) and select continue.
The last step is the specifics tab. We need to fill up this tab cause it will complete your listing. There are some attributes which are mandatory. If you want you can add your custom specifics. (Maybe we will discuss on custom specifics one day ).
Now click on Continue. After finishing this step, you will proceed to the next and final stage of uploading the selected item.
Now just click on the list added products now and wait for a little bit time and you will receive a confirmation that product has been uploaded.
Conclusion:
This is the full procedure to upload items in a marketplace (we have used eBay marketplace). You can add many items under one listing/configurator.
