FORMULA TO AVOID AMAZON REJECTIONS TO YOUR A+ CONTENT
CONTENT CREATED BY: Esrat Jahan
Does your A+ content mark as “rejected” after you submit it for publishing? That means Amazon’s algorithm determines that the content violates Amazon’s best practices. If one or more prohibited keywords are detected in your content, A+ Content will reject you from submitting until the words are removed. For the keywords used while uploading your product images, look through your text boxes, image keywords, and text embedded in images. Check these common rejection reasons before submitting to ensure your content isn’t rejected by the Amazon system. In this content, I will briefly discuss some topics so that you can have a clear idea to overcome such rejections and issues. Let’s begin!
WHY AMAZON MAY REJECT YOUR A+ CONTENT?
1. DO NOT MENTION RESTRICTED PROMOTIONAL TERMS
Some words may be prohibited in a specific context, and if you use banned keywords in your A+, you may not be able to publish it until the issue is resolved. Some of them are normal, for example, names of some drugs, names, abusive language, etc. But there are even some regular words you should be aware of. The following is a list of words that can make Amazon react :
PROHIBITED TERMS | EXAMPLE |
Environmental | Eco-friendly |
Restricted Product names | CBD |
Promotional | Guaranteed, Free shipping, #1 |
Brand Names | Any brand name except your own |
Occasions | Holidays or events with religious connections |
2. DO NOT ALLOW ERROR IN TEXT
Grammatical mistakes, punctuation mistakes, misspelled words, a string of all-caps text, abusing font features, or information that is unnecessary or repeated.
The use of bold and italic fonts is only intended to draw attention to headings or a few keywords.
3. DO NOT USE CLAIMS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN VERIFIED
Any claims made without scientific proof, such as health claims, energy-saving claims, and so on, will result in your A+ or EBC content being rejected.
a) Claims of energy savings:
Your A+ content may be rejected if any claim is not supported by credible evidence. This includes both health and energy-saving claims. Any claims about energy savings, efficiency, or fuel consumption must be verified.
b) Health-related claims:
You should avoid making any outlandish disease claims without scientific proof, according to the FTC’s stance on health and nutrition claims.
Furthermore, if the content in your A+ content makes claims without an FDA disclaimer, it will be rejected.
4. DO NOT USE OF MORE THAN TWO QUOTATIONS
There is a maximum limit of two quotes from well-known publications or public figures. If you include product award information, you must include a disclaimer stating the source.
Adding stars to show a positive review is also grounds for rejection. Though there is no specific reason for this, we believe it is because the algorithm interprets it as an attempt to mimic Amazon details.
5. DO NOT USE COPYRIGHT TRADEMARK
It is forbidden to use any registered symbols. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
™
©
®
If you’re having trouble getting Amazon to approve your EBC, double-check all of your images (especially the logo) to make sure they don’t contain any of the forbidden symbols. Amazon does not allow you to add trademark or copyright symbols to your logo, even if it is registered.
6. NEVER USE BLURRY OR POOR QUALITY IMAGES
Conversion rates can be harmed by blurry or low-quality images, so use the best assets you can. You should avoid the following:
- The product is not depicted in lifestyle images.
- Watermarked images or images with unreadable text
- On the detail page, there is content that duplicates many of the images from the main image block.
7. “THE ASIN DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A PART OF YOUR BRAND” ERROR
This notice indicates that the ASIN is not correctly linked to your brand. It’s usually because the brand name linked with that particular product differs from what you’ve been approved for through the brand registry.
The A+ can be refused if the ASIN’s brand name does not match an Amazon Brand Registry-approved brand name.
a) UPC
b) Style number
c) Model number
d) Part number
e) Catalog number
For a variety of reasons, your EBC or A+ content may be rejected. The guidelines we have written for using A+ content are straightforward and simple. If you’re following the aforementioned rules while creating A+ content, hopefully you can avoid Amazon rejections while uploading A+ content.
Thank you!
