What is a Shipping Template on Amazon?

Amazon allows you, as a seller, to create and save custom shipping settings in a predefined format called a ‘shipping template’. Shipping settings range from ‘Standard’ and ‘Expedited’ to ‘Free Economy’ shipping. Each setting comes with its own unique transit times and shipping costs.

Why do we need to set a Shipping Template on Amazon?

It determines what you charge for standard shipping, where you ship to (e.g. Europe), what you charge for it, what shipping options (e.g. Expedited) you will offer and for how much and what your handling time is.

Once you start using shipping templates, it is very important that you monitor which shipping templates are assigned to which SKU. This is especially important after first migrating (or if you have previously migrated). Using of the wrong template could cause the wrong shipping rate being charged for items.
