In ecommerce business, we sell our items in various marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Sears, Jet, Wish, Newegg etc. We need to prepare catalog for our products in every marketplaces or on our online store. Item Specification is one of the most important part in a catalog. In item specification section a seller can highlight the most important features of his item and most of the customer see the Specification after title.
Why Item Specification is Important?
If we write a jumble of words to introduce our item that may not be easier to catch buyers eyes. It becomes difficult to read the whole stories of all of the items while buying items choosing from numerous collections. In this case customer will strive to find their necessary information. For that reason we write the important features in specification section that soothes the buyers eyes and makes easier to find their necessary information at a glance.
In Sellercloud we can import the item specification in two ways
- Manually one by one from Sellercloud Interface
- Import item specification on SellerCloud using excel or CSV file in bulk
Today we are going to see how to import item specification on SellerCloud in bulk. We will be able to use these item specifications while we list items in different marketplaces.
For Amazon we will be able to use these specifications as bullet points. Here we are specifically seeing ebay’s specification import as it plays an important role on the ebay’s catalog to make a seller’s appearance at first. But process are same for all marketplace.
Here we have prepared a feed in excel having the item specifications of Shoes, we want to add. We are adding here the Brand name, MPN, Style, Size, Features, Material, Gender, Color, Country/Region of Manufacture, Fastening etc. The more specifications we will add, the more possibility to be at the first rank.
Certainly our specifications can be relevant, easy and not difficult to digest. If we provide irrelevant information, it increases our words but decrease our search result ranking. Whenever our listings present exactly what shoppers seeking and they find enough persuasive product information they will eagerly purchase from us with trust.
Note: The excel header must match with Sellercloud format, so to make it easy you can download a template from Sellercloud so go to ‘Bulk Update Products’ then click on ‘Get Template file’ where we can choose all the column we want to import.
After populating the excel or CSV with information We will go to the SellerCloud Inventory page and click on Import Products Info.
In the ‘Import Product Info’ Page click on ‘Import Product Specifics’. Here we need to select the File Type, then Format.
For Format field, we need to select ‘Multi Product’ from Dropdown
Now choose the file and click ‘Import Product Specifics’ Button.
Note: From this ‘Import Product Specifics’ we can also download the template
After clicking the Import Button the file will submit to Sellercloud and following message will appear.
We will click to monitor the status and find the status is complete. If the feed is large in size, it may take a few while.
To check whether the item specificationd have been imported on SellerCloud or not, we will search with the Product ID on the inventory page and click on eBay to enter in the eBay template or eBay Properties Page.
On the eBay properties page, we will click on the Item Specifics Selected.
A pop up window has appeared and we are seeing here the item specifics we have imported.
