Amazon Belgium Update – Sell Your Items on Amazon Belgium – New Marketplace Launched in Europe

Amazon is undoubtedly the most popular and ever-expanding marketplace in the world.  In late July this year, it announced the launching of a new platform in Belgium. Amazon has marketplaces in around 24 different countries, but Belgium wasn’t on that list till the new update. Even though Belgian people were selling on Amazon and buying from Amazon regularly. They were able to sell and buy products through their neighboring country France, Netherlands, & Germany’s marketplaces in Amazon (Amazon.fr, Amazon.nl, and Amazon.de) whenever they want.

More than 1,000 small and medium-sized businesses in Belgium are already selling on Amazon. They have set up businesses to sell in one or more of the 24 Amazon stores across the world. But now they can sell from Amazon.com.be. A home for Belgian businesses, empowering them to grow their online business both in Belgium and abroad.

Registration Started In JULY

Amazon announced that sellers can register their business on sell.amazon.com.be from July 28. Begulain seller can build their store on Amazon and list items to get sales from the very beginning.  The marketplace was supposed to be live in September for buyers, but it took some time. However, this delay allows sellers to become more prepared and fimiliar to Amazon rules and regulation. 

Launched On October 18

Finally, after a long wait, After a long wait, on October 18, Amazon finally launched Amazon.com.be for Belgian shoppers. Now Belgian people can shop from more than 30 categories with a vast collection of more than 180 million products. They can discover new local brands as well as shop from renowned brands. Customers can now take advantages of free and fast Amazon delivery at their door step. Amazon Belgium will provide customer support in three languages, France, Flemish and English. 

Belgium shoppers can now join Amazon’s membership, Amazon Prime on Amazon Belgium. Amazon is trying to provide the best of shopping, saving end entertaining experiences for its new marketplace buyers.

Part of the Planning

However, Amazon already established relationships with carriers operating throughout Belgium. In 2021, Amazon Logistics expanded its partnerships with local delivery companies in Belgium. It was an early attempt to meet increasing demand. Also, a further improvement in delivery experience for Belgian customers in the coming busy days.

Logistic Hub in Antwerp

As part of the plan, Amazon is set to open its own logistic hub and delivery station in Antwerp, which is the largest city in Belgium.

Hopefully, it will be done in the fall of 2022. This delivery station will generate 50 permanent jobs for the workforce in the area. And will create opportunities for local delivery companies, which will employ approximately 200 additional drivers in the area.

Country Manager for Amazon Belgium, Eva Faict, said it’s very encouraging how Belgians had been a great part of Amazon for many years. She said, “It is just the start of our journey in Belgium and we are dedicated to delivering the best experience we can for our customers and local Selling Partners.”

Amazon Belgium will be a great addition to other countries’ sellers and buyers also. They can now add another marketplace to their sales and shopping channels. If you sell on Amazon globally, you should try Amazon Belgium as your new sales channel.
