In this documentation, we will show you how we can create a configurable\/variation product on Magento 2.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Magento is an eCommerce platform built on open source technology that provides online merchants with a flexible shopping cart system, as well as control over the look, content, and functionality of their online store. Magento offers powerful marketing, search engine optimization, and catalog-management tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Magento, we can create different types of products like Simple, Configurable, Virtual, etc. In this article, we will show the procedure of creating configurable products on Magento(2). A configurable product is like a parent product which we used to list on Amazon, eBay, and some other marketplaces. Basically, a configurable product has some child product under it. These child products can be simple products or virtual products. Initially, they will be created as virtual products but you can convert them to simple products later.  This guide will explain the steps to listing new configurable products on Magento. Process of creating configurable product<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Sign in to Magento and look at the top left menu bar. Click on \u201cCATALOG<\/strong>\u201d and click\u201cProducts<\/strong>\u201d. This will bring to the product page.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/strong> <\/strong>Now click the Arrow <\/strong>sign right to the Add Product<\/strong> button. And then select Configurable Product<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: <\/strong>Now put the Product Name, SKU, Price, Quantity, Weight, Category, Country of Manufacture in the blank boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE: You can add dummy Price and Quantity as this will disappear after creating the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong> <\/strong>Now click on Description. <\/strong>You can write up to 6 Bullet Points here. Then click the button General <\/strong>and select the Brand <\/strong>name of the product from the drop-down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then click Images And Videos<\/strong> you have to add some images of this product in this field. You can also add videos here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now click Content <\/strong>and write a Long Description of this product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

**Bullet Points and Long Description should be common as a different child have different attributes. You have to add Individual Bullet Points and Individual  Long Description for Individual child after creating the Configurable Product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/strong> <\/strong>Now click Create Configurations <\/strong>(Marked Red in the bottom left in the previous image). Select an attribute then click next. Now select the attribute value. As I select Color as an attribute, So we select two colors (Black & Green) and then click next again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now select the Apply unique attribute to each SKU for Images, Prices and Quantities then select the attribute name(color). You have to provide images, Prices, and Quantities for each variation you selected previously. Then click next and then click Generate Products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Configurable Product<\/strong> is almost done. Now click SAVE <\/strong>at the top right. Hope this article will help you to create configurable products on Magento 2.
