In this article, we will discuss how to generate or re-generate token for eBay sales channel. We will generate the token using Linnworks Channel Integration feature when token becomes invalidated or Expired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The concept of the token is like a key. When we want to work on eBay from a Third Party Software, tool or web <\/span>apps<\/span> like Linnworks we need a Key from marketplace to integrate both platforms. In Linnworks, that key is <\/span>called<\/span> \u2018Token\u2019. We use it to integrate eBay with <\/span>Linnworks<\/span>. As a result, <\/span>Linnworks<\/span> recognizes<\/span> eBay system and can communicate easily.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Linnworks must need a Valid Token to work perfectly on eBay. If we don\u2019t generate a token, we will miss most of the <\/span>features<\/span> of Linnworks. Like Order can\u2019t be sync, Inventory or Quantity will not sync, Listing Management will not work properly and many others feature for which we <\/span>mainly<\/span> use Linnworks.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n The <\/span>Token<\/span> is a kind <\/span>of<\/span> identifier for our account and permits us to get and send data in eBay. A token <\/span>can<\/span> be invalidated for many reasons and when it does we just need to generate a new Token to make sure <\/span>that<\/span> Linnworks working successfully with eBay.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n To create or generate a new <\/span>Token<\/span> on eBay, the Token will first need to be revoked on the <\/span>My eBay<\/span> page and will need to re-create in Linnworks. <\/span>The steps are shown below.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n eBay \u2192 My eBay \u2192 My Account \u2192 Site Preferences \u2192 Third-party authorizations<\/p>\n\n\n\n Select the Application for which you want to revoke the token \u2192 Apply. Third Party Software, Tool or Web Apps section of eBay<\/p>\n\n\n\n After completing this step on eBay you need to test the eBay Configuration on Linnworks. For this, you need to follow the below step<\/p>\n\n\n\n Settings \u2192 Channel Integration \u2192 eBay Configuration and click on \u2018Test\u2019. By clicking <\/span>\u2018Test\u2019<\/span>, there will be a prompt with a message that the \u2018eBay Authorization <\/span>Token<\/span> has expired<\/span> and needs to be re-created\u2019. We need to follow the instructions on the screen to re-generate the Token.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Now we need to click on <\/span>\u2018Test\u2019<\/span> again, this time <\/span>a<\/span> popup message will say \u2018Token has been re-created successfully\u2019 <\/span>which<\/span> confirms that the Token has been generated and validated.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n In this documentation<\/span>, we have discussed Token validation between Linnworks and eBay.
