Update Information of existing eBay listing using Linnworks

In this article, we will discuss about how to update eBay Information from Linnworks to those items that were listed directly using eBay seller account or file-exchange.

We specially use Linnworks or any Multi-Channel Inventory management solution for listing management and inventory management purposes. In most cases, we use inventory management feature when we start using Linnworks cause it is so easy and with a few clicks, we can use this feature but only inventory tracking is not our only objective. Our goal is to control everything from Linnworks and Listing Management one of the main feature for which we use Linnworks. But for Listing management, most of the cases our items are already listed as we are using a 3rd party app. Then how we can manage listing information on the marketplace where all the information already created on marketplace backend directly. In this article we will discuss how to take control of listing on Linnworks from marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, Website then controls everything from Linnworks.   

Here we will bring the information of those already listed from marketplace to Linnworks. Then we update all of the listings from Linnworks. So let’s begin

Action:

  1. We have to extract data from Marketplace to Linnworks Store the information on Linnworks
  2. Update information from Linnworks to Marketplace using configurator

Extract data from Marketplace to Linnworks and Store the information on Linnworks

Go to Linnworks. On the My Inventory page, you will see “SETTING” at the bottom left corner, click on “SETTING” there.

Click on “Extract” Inventory under Settings. In Normal sense, the extract Inventory feature is used for downloading information from the marketplace then store those on Linnworks. When we import listing from marketplace to Linnworks from Mapping window to Linnworks, Only some of the information stored on Linnworks like TItle, quantity but if we use Extract inventory we can download and store information like description, Image, other features from marketplace to Linnworks. Select “EBAY” and then “EBAY1” from the dropdown. We have two stores for that reason we have selected “EBAY1”. If you have only one store or more than that select accordingly.

Note: In our case, we are going to extract Information from eBay so in all prices, we will select the source as well as sub source but the procedure is the same for all the channels.

Search with the Item ID. With Item ID we are speaking about the unique ID eBay provide for every listing.

Here is the item and click on the “Download” button. This will download the information from eBay to Linnworks.

A loading sign will appear notifying the item is downloading.

While the download is completed, a “Create” button will appear at the right corner. Now click on the “Create” button.

Choose the configurator from the dropdown and click on “Create”. This will create the “URL” on Linnworks. We have discussed about configurator here.

Click on “View” and the eBay Template page will open.

Here the item status is showing listed. You will find the “URL” here. Click on the “URL”.

You will be taken to the listing that is already live on eBay. Here is the front-end of the listed item on eBay.

Now you will be able to update information from Linnworks. Here is the description of this item.

Update information from Linnworks to Marketplace using configurator

After extracting information from Marketplace, If you want to update any information on the marketplace from Linnworks. Here we are showing you the process of updating description from Linnworks to eBay. Go to the Linnworks “My Inventory” and search with the item “SKU”.

Click on the item “SKU”.

Following Pop-up window will appear. Click on the “Listing description”.

Click on the “Add New” beside Product description by channel.

Add the “Source”, “SubSource” and “SubSource Suffix” and click on “Add”.

Click on the icon below Description.

Here add the Description in HTML tag and click “Save” button.

Again Click on the “Save” button on the Listing description page.

Now Revise the Description.

The description will update on the eBay catalog.

When we sell huge items, generally we use a third-party app to maintain everything properly of our store. We can extract easily the information of all items from eBay to Linnworks and we can maintain everything from Linnworks following this article.
