How to Change Handling Time on Walmart

Handling time is the number of days between the date an item is ordered and when it is shipped. It’s the key part of customer delivery promise and your account health. Customers always love to get the product in the shortest possible time. But sometimes sellers may need more time to process the order or they occasionally need to take a holiday. For that, most of the sellers turn into vacation mode and stop receiving and processing without changing the handling time which may lead to lost sales.

But there is an option “Additional Days Off” on Walmart. By setting up the handling time, sellers can continue to accept orders from the customers while they are on Vacation. But most sellers are unaware of how to set up handling time on their Walmart seller account. In this article, we will guide you on how to set up Handling time on Walmart from the Seller Center.

Step 1: First, Log in to your Walmart Seller Account.

Step 2: On Walmart Seller Center, you will see the Settings menu in the top right corner. Click on the Settings menu and go to the Shipping Templates option.

Step 3:  After clicking on Shipping Templates, it will direct you to a new page – Seller Fulfillment Settings. Here, you need to click GENERAL SHIPPING.

Step 4: After that, scroll down a bit until you find the Additional Days Off section.

Step 5: Now, you need to select days from the calendar when you will be unavailable. Once you have made the selection, please click on the Save button to complete the process.

For example, have a look at the below screenshot, here the blue-colored dates indicate that the merchant will be unavailable on those certain days, but able to receive orders. Once the merchant returns from the vacation, he/she will start the shipping process.

Please Note: Updating the “Additional Days Off” will affect your whole category, it’s helpful when you wish to go on a vacation. But if you want to update the handling time of any specific items or category, there’s no choice, you have to contact Walmart.

To conclude, Walmart allows sellers to put the handling time between 0-1 business day by default and sellers can’t change it directly. If sellers need more time to process the order, they need to get approval but it’s a bit time-consuming. If sellers don’t have much time, they can easily fix this by setting up the handling time.
