When you create a listing on ChannelAdvisor, it’s not required to list items according to any marketplace guidelines. You just create a listing with all the information and attributes you can add. However, if you want to list those items on eBay from your multichannel management software ChannelAdvisor, you ought to fill up eBay’s required and relevant attribute fields, according to eBay’s guidelines.
Though it seems quite a hassle, ChannelAdvisor facilitates a template mapping feature that can contain all the required and relevant fields for eBay or any other marketplace you want to list. You can list various items with one mapped template.
In today’s guide, I will talk about how you can Map a template on ChannelAdvisor for your eBay marketplace. The template mapping process is quite the same for other marketplaces also, just remember to fill up attribute fields based on the sales channel guidelines.
eBay Template Mapping On Channel Advisor
We need to create a template on ChanelAdvisor that contains the mappings from your data to the channel fields. We can check and select the priority level of attributes. Like you can add attributes that are Required or Required if Relevant. Also, you can add attributes that are not a must but are good to have for items or listings in different marketplaces. Once you create a template for eBay you can use that for various items as many times as you want.
Now let’s dig into the process of how you can Map a template on ChannelAdvisor for eBay.
Step 1: First, log into your ChannelAdvisor account. Now hover over Sell, then go to the eBay marketplace option. Now, click on Settings & Feeds.
Step 2: The below page will appear. You can see Feed Template then click on the EDIT Option.
Here is the template for the eBay marketplace. From here we can start mapping the template for eBay.
Here you can see 2 options.
The first one is By Category. You can search the category of your item here.
The second one is this Preview a Product option. From here, you can check your product information in mapping.
Now here you can see all the important sections to map the template for eBay. They are:
- Priority
- Channel Field
- Mapping from your Data
- Status
Priority: In this part, you can see what is Required, Required if relevant, Best Practice, and others which not essential but it’s suitable for your items.
Now, if you click on the dropdown, you can see –
Required – This part contains fields that you must fill up.
Required If Relevant – This part is important if relevant to your items, also you need to fill up this part the same as the required part.
Best Practice – It’s not necessary to provide all the time, but can be useful sometimes.
Other – It depends on the attribute name, which attributes are important for your items, then you need to fill them up.
Channel Field – Here you can search your Attribute name.
Mapping from your Data – Here you need to indicate your product value under your product field.
Status – This is the last part of template mapping, in there you can see which part you mapped, and which part is Unmapped.
After filling up all the attributes fields, check if everything is ok as you wanted. If all fields are fine, save the template and create the listing on eBay. As I said before, this template mapping process is the same for other marketplaces also.
